Peer Support

ONE-TO-ONE PEER SUPPORT SESSIONS

Peer Support at Trans Plus have now moved to a self-referral system for our one-to-one support sessions which you can access via the link below.

 

Please fill in the form to let us know some details about you and the support you are looking for and one of our team will be in touch within 72 hours to confirm receipt and let you know the next steps.

If you have any difficulty filling in the referral form, you can ask for assistance from one of our clinicians at any of your Trans Plus appointments (including telephone appointments).

 

WE ALSO RUN MONTHLY IN-PERSON AND ONLINE PEER SUPPORT GROUPS

These are trans/non-binary-only spaces that you can come to regularly or drop into whenever you like.

What the groups are: An optional, informal and friendly space for people to ask questions and get advice, as well as being a way to meet other trans/non-binary people, share experiences and socialise.

What they aren’t: Compulsory, an assessment, or group therapy.

 

Social

The Wednesday Social is a monthly social space for Trans Plus service users. The social is a friendly, relaxed environment where you can make friends, play card games and get creative with arts and crafts. 

Dates and time

Socials take place at 4pm-6pm on the following Wednesdays. There is no need to book in advance, feel free to attend any sessions.

  • 28th Jan – Movie night
  • 25th Feb – Crafts (crafting supplies available but encourage you to bring and share your own)
  • 25th Mar – Make up & manicures – For all genders!
  • 29th Apr – Game night
  • 27th May – Mindfulness pamper session
  • 24th Jun – Placard making session for Trans+ Pride
  • 29th Jul – Arty outing (TBC)
  • 26th Aug – Picnic in Soho Gardens
  • 30th Sep – Vision board creation
  • 28th Oct – Spooky crafts & Quiz
  • 25th Nov – Festive movie night
  • 16th Dec – Bauble painting/decorating

Online Groups

 

Online groups will meet monthly on Wednesday evenings from 5-6pm on the following dates. There is no need to book in advance, feel free to attend any sessions.

 

Online groups are open to all service users and will have a theme for each session.  See below for the MS Teams link for these sessions – We ask that this link isn’t shared with anyone who isn’t a Trans Plus Service user.

  • 12th August – Queer Media – books, films, or podcasts with trans representation
  • 16th Sept – Managing dysphoria – sharing tips and practices
  • 14th Oct – Gender beyond the binary – What does gender mean to you
  • 11th Nov – GRC application support
  • 9th Dec – Year in review – share your successes and challenges
